How We Review

Saddle Stool Dental Chair is an independent review site. We do not manufacture or sell chairs, we are not owned by any seating brand, and no company can pay to be recommended. This page explains exactly how our recommendations are made.

How We Select Products

We start from what dental professionals actually buy and discuss: hygienist and assistant communities, practitioner forums, retailer best-seller lists and reader questions. A product earns a place in our guides when it is genuinely available to buy, has meaningful real-world feedback from clinical users, and fills a clear need (budget, heavy-duty, petite, back support, split seat and so on).

What We Evaluate

  • Ergonomic design: saddle shape, seat tilt, and whether the geometry actually produces the open-hip posture the research supports.
  • Adjustability: cylinder height range, backrest height and depth adjustment, tilt mechanisms.
  • Build and materials: weight rating, base stability, cushion density over a full clinical day, wipeable seamless upholstery for infection control.
  • Real practitioner feedback: what working hygienists, assistants, dentists and other clinical users report after months of use, including complaints.
  • Value: a $150 stool that fits your body beats a $600 stool that does not. We say so when it is true.

Evidence Standards

Where we make health or ergonomics claims, we cite published research, such as the systematic review and meta-analysis on saddle versus conventional seating in dentistry (PMC). Product specifications like weight capacities are taken from manufacturer documentation, and when a manufacturer does not publish a figure, we say “not published” rather than guessing.

How We Make Money

Some links on this site are affiliate links, mostly to Amazon. If you buy through them we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never change what we recommend: rankings are set before links are added, we regularly recommend cheaper products over more expensive ones, and negative points stay in our reviews. Corrections and Updates

We review our guides periodically and update prices, availability and specifications, and each page shows its last updated date. If you spot an error, tell us via the contact page and we will fix it.
